About Marilyn Adams-George
I attended East High and Bakersfield College, Fresno State Extension and have a Master's Degree. I was in business in Chico, Butte County where I also taught at CSUC and served as the executive director for the United Way. I am a retired fundraiser/agency director having moved back to hometown Bakersfield in 2000. In recent years I was the events planner for the Greek Food Festival on Truxtun, state co-director for a Korean student exchange program, directed a two-year grant program, under the County Fire Department , on child safety and did contract work for a few non-profits. I am currently active with the Kern District of Women's Clubs as a charity chairman for 13 clubs, active in the Woman's Club of Bakersfield and a member of Olli at CSUB. I am a member of BC Alumni and East High Alumni. I volunteer for many projects in the city where extra hands are needed. Its fun. Presently my friend Kathleen and I decorate the Kern County Library display cases in six libraries. We install new displays for educational and enjoyment purposes monthly . One of our favorite locations is Wasco where school kids show up monthly to help us decorate. We then drop by The El Patio for an early dinner on our way home to Bakersfield.
