Hilarious, high-energy nationally-touring vocal group coming to Rabobank Theater

Michigan-based entertainers are "one-part Smothers Brothers, one-part Statler Brothers, and one-part Marx Brothers"

Three Men and a Tenor, voted “The Best Entertainment in Michigan-2006”, by the Michigan Meetings and Events Magazine, will bring a high-energy, vocal music show to Rabobank Theater on Monday, October 30 at 7:30pm. The hilarious, a cappella vocal music presentation is being presented by Bakersfield Community Concert Association and tickets are available by calling {661} 326-0838. Further event information  can be found on the BCCA’s website at www.geocities.com/communityconcert/.
The group has its own Emmy-Award winning National PBS-TV music concert special, as well as a 15-year resume of over 2000 performances, which includes featured spots with national acts, and headlining concerts for international corporate events, and the National Tour Association convention and conference.
This live concert consists of high-energy, a cappella arrangements from popular musical artists like The Temptations, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Bob Mariey, Sugar Ray, Garth Brooks, and even Aretha Franklin, and several of the groups own original songs. “Having fun is universal- it is not ruled by a target demographic”, claims 3MT group member Mark Stiles.  “We just want everyone to come and have a good time at our shows- it is just simply music that people know and love, and we just hope that we creatively present it in a way they have never heard it done before”.
Comedy is a major part of the presentation as well, when audiences first are greeted by the group at the top of the show.  The “Three Men” all stand over 6 feet 4 inches tall, and “The Tenor”, is 5 feet tall.  The “short joke” lends itself to being a very playful part of how the guys interact with each other and their audiences throughout the show.
The group recently spent 16 days, touring 8 different US Military Bases in Germany to sing for the U.S. Military Bases and their military families. The tour was financially supported by the Daimler Chrysler Corporation Fund, and the Downtown YMCA of Lansing, MI.  In 2004, 3MT performed 23 shows in 8 days, on a similar tour of Germany, sponsored by General Motors (GM) and the Exchange New Car Program.
Three Men and a Tenor was created in 1992 when Paul Felch, Chuck Colby, Mark Stiles, and Glenn Williams, “The Tenor”, were in the Men's Glee Club at Michigan State University.  The four original, founding members, hand picked each other out of a room of 60-members, to form to sing one song in a glee club concert, and they have been together ever since. No musical audition ever took place- it was merely a sight gag, that became a wonderful, 13-year international touring music career together.  With 6 CDs and a PBS-DVD to its name, 3MT has come a long way.
