MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY 2007
Join Keep Bakersfield Beautiful on Saturday, October 27, 2007 for Make A Difference Day. Make a Difference Day, created by USA Weekend Magazine, is a national day of helping others, a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors and takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October. Volunteers can assist in the following local projects:

Keep Bakersfield Beautiful will also hold an Environmental and Wellness Fair at Lassens Natural Food and Vitamins located in the Mervyn’s Shopping Center at 4308 California Avenue between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Fair will feature various informational booths with giveaways and samples. Raffle prizes include a mountain bike, gift baskets and a subscription for one year of free curbside recycling service. There will also be games and activities for the kids. In addition, between the hours of 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., the public is encouraged to drop off their electronic waste, tires (4 per vehicle) and used oil filters at the event FREE OF CHARGE. Come learn how small changes can make a BIG difference for the environment and for your health!
