The Kern County Democratic Party hosts a get-together the first Wednesday of each month at Dagny’s Coffee. This is no formal meeting or topic, just a chance for local Democrats and progressively-minded people to talk about the important issues of the day. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people in a county where Democrats, liberals and progressives often feel they are alone in their political leanings. With the upcoming national election in November, there is sure to be some spirited discussion.
August’s meeting is on Wednesday, August 6, from 5 to 7pm at Dagny’s Coffee, 1600 20th Street, Downtown Bakersfield. For further information, call 322-7411.
