Ever wonder what it would be like to be a part of a growing industry where you can help children and earn money at the same time? If so, attend one of three, free “How to Start a Child Care Business” workshops on July 16, Aug. 19 or Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Weill Institute of Bakersfield College, 2100 Chester Ave., in Bakersfield. To register, call the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at (661) 395-4126 or visit online at http://www.weill-sbdc.com/w....

Presented by Local Investment in Child Care (LINCC), SBDC and Community Connection for Child Care, the workshop will give you the practical information you need to open a quality child care business as a stand-alone center or in-home operation. Kern County will need 80 new child care centers and 1,000 family child care home providers by the year 2015.

All aspects of running a child care business will be discussed. So, if you are a child development professional, child care operator, home-based entrepreneur, real estate developer, business owner or have a desire to be in the child care business, this workshop will help you determine if a child care business is right for you.

For more information, please contact Dana Adams, LINCC child care intermediary, at (661) 636-4572.
