What is a culture without its art?  Aliza McCracken is a great source of that art which continues to create a growing culture in Bakersfield.  A key component to a vibrant and thriving community is its contributing members.  Aliza McCracken exemplifies the best of example of this.

Whether it is her painting, her poetry, or her graphic design, Aliza's art has touched us all.  Not only is her work inspirational, it's filled with the spirit of giving; a portion of the proceeds of her work benefits numerous charities.

Aliza's selflessness and overwhelming care for people is rare, but what I have noticed is that her willingness to contribute is contagious.  Her enthusiasm for life forces those around her to ask, "What is it that makes someone so benevolent, so compassionate, have the capacity to impact her fellow man and view this as a source of happiness?"  The answers are only found in emulating those traits and in reading her artistic book, SPIRIT OF JOY.  I, for one, have done this.  I've seen the richness of her life and it has inspired me to spread that richness.  Aliza's artwork has inspired me to become involved in the community as well.  I can definitely say that because of her, I now volunteer and look forward to public service.

No one is more deserving of recognition than Aliza McCracken.  I strongly recommend her and her book, SPIRIT OF JOY without hesitation.  The beauty of her art and the beauty of her altruism only provide a glimpse into the beauty of her soul.
