Raise a Glass to Family-Operated Nonprofit
The first annual Spirit of Wine dinner, held at Valentien Restaurant and Wine Bar, will raise funds to support Mendiburu Magic Foundation. This foundation is a family-run organization for local children diagnosed with cancer.
The event will feature community leaders who support the group’s vision. They will act as waiters for the evening, bringing a special flair to an elegant, 13-course gourmet dinner. Each course will be paired with wine and surrounded by entertainment and a live auction that boasts extravagant items unlike any other live auction has showcased before.
“There are many organizations out there fundraising for worthy causes, but I hope you will donate your time and attend this very important event,” says Dr. Kothary, event host. “We hope that in a small way our contribution to this fight against cancer can help bring hope and encouragement.”
Children in Kern County diagnosed with cancer are unable to stay home for treatment and must travel to Los Angeles or Madera. The Memorial Patient Assistance Fund helps with the financial hardship and burden
that the family undergoes during this very frightening time. The foundation dreams of having a hospital in town that can aid these young cancer patients in the comfort of their home town. With enough financial support from events such as this one, that dream could soon become a reality.
Mendiburu Magic has vowed, during times of catastrophy or facing a life threatening illness for children under 18, the foundation will provide families assistance in creating everlasting memories and improving quality of life. The money raised will go to aid families with paying for home utility bills, gasoline for trips for treatments, medication, incidentals, lodging and more.
