Bakersfield Community Theatre Playhouse invites you to “Aladdin And The Wonderful Lamp!“ The show dates are: October 10, 11, 17, 18 at 7 p.m. and October 12^th and 19^th at 2 p.m. For the 7 p.m. showing the doors will be open at 6:30, and for the 2 p.m. matinees they will open at 1:30. Adult prices are $10. Students, seniors, and active military are $8. Delicious all-beef hot dogs, chips, candy, and refreshments will be sold as well. *LQ's performing Arts Center is in need of the help from its community. As a nonprofit our existence for the last 7 years has only been possible from the support of those it serves. Threatened by today's economy, LQ's Performing Arts Center might have to close its doors to the kids who are partaking in this "life-changing" program. To prevent this from happening, LQ's will host a Benefit Performance Show, showcasing the talents of the Summer Day Camp students, as well as the year-round students. The community can help LQ's by either attending the show or by making a generous donation for the cause. So help us keep the kids' Hearts for the Arts ALIVE and SAVE LQ's.*

SAVE LQ'S Benefit Performance Show

We, at LQ's Performing Arts Center, might have to close our doors to the community if we're not able to raise enough money to keep it open. This would greatly effect the community, being that LQ's has been a positive outlet for many of Kern County's youth. Without a program like LQ's Performing Arts Center, many of our youth might become lost.

To prevent that from happening, we have scheduled a fundraiser that should help with our lack. On October 11, 2008, LQ's Performing Arts Center will host the "SAVE LQ's" Benefit Performance Show at the location of the center (1300 19th Street). We have 2 scheduled shows: 2PM & 8PM. Tickets are $10 each.

We will need your help in getting the word out to our community. If this is at all possible, please contact me via telephone or email to set up a time where one could be interviewed for more information.

Finally, an event just for teenagers! Learn to make films from Hollywood pros. Workshops include:

Acting
Writing
Directing
Cinematography
Sound
Getting into the Business
Discussion panel

Sit down with the pros at lunch, ask them all about their faith and their work. And post your resume on the "Crew and Talent Board" if you want to network with other filmmakers.

Keynote speaker this year is Michael Sajbel, director of One Night With the King and The Ultimate Gift.

All this for only $20.00! I know it's crazy, but this includes three workshops, all handouts, and lunch!
