Those who know me well know that this winter is not my favorite time of year. I am not a fan of the darkness. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the cool evenings but I'd rather have the light out until 8:30.
    Yes, I am looking forward to the Spring. Ready to move out of Winter. Ready for the longer days, the cooler evenings and time to wake from hibernation.
    My daughter will start softball this spring, my wife and I will start working on the backyard flowerbeds and the entire family will enjoy bike rides at Riverwalk. I am counting the days til the Spring time change. It can't come soon enough.
    I will say that I did find one new bit of excitement this Winter. My family went to the snow for the first time. If you have not been to Alta Sierra, you need to go. We now have a new Winter hobby.
    Bring on the sun. Bring on the long days. I know many will shun me for saying this, but bring on the near 100 degree days. That means that Summertime is here and I've enjoyed my time in a Bakersfield spring.
